Still Unsure?

Our mind can leap at shadows, creating paralysing fears…

frog fear
Self-defeating thoughts can stop you dead
  • I’m too old
  • I’ve never done it before
  • It’s too rough for me
  • I’m not strong enough
  • I might get hurt
  • I’m afraid of falling and failing
  • I’m way too unfit and uncoordinated

Don’t let fear win. Fear is what stops us…. courage gets us started and keeps us going. And when we get started, our mind will instantly benefit. Moving more…

  • helps take us away from stressful thoughts and everything else in our life.. it’s dynamic meditation!
  • generates feel-good chemicals called endorphins.. they’re pain relievers and can create sensations of well-being
  • helps deliver that “I’ve-done-it” feeling of accomplishment

So for the sake of our sanity, we all need to take our “medicine” and get active. Whether it’s in the gym, in the park or in your home, it doesn’t matter. And perhaps, just perhaps, it’ll be fun. Plain and simple. Whatever activity you choose, Fight-Style or other, stay focussed and feel proud of what you’re doing for yourself. Just start AND keep moving.

If you choose Fight-Style training, you’ll see that it’s highly effective in taking care of you physically and otherwise. And trust me on this… you may also discover that you’re stronger on the inside and the outside that you thought. Equally self-nourishing is when you develop that realisation of confidence in your own skin… well, that really takes some beating.

From another perspective there’s no better mind therapy than trying to figure your way out of your opponent’s half-guard (that’s Brazilian Jiu Jitsu speak) or that feel-good sensation when your shin perfectly smacks into your trainer’s Muay Thai pads and makes that satisfying noise that only comes with a precise and power kick. It’s tiny moments like these that will make you want to come back, again and again.

From Small Steps to Big Kicks

Ready to get active? Great. Just remember, I can come to you (so no need to drag yourself to the gym). Working together, we can start with small steps…
